Our story
Started in 2022, by operators who couldn't find a card they trusted.
Sofia and Alex met running point on digital-asset desks during the 2021 cycle. Every weekend they faced the same problem: their net worth lived on-chain, but paying for groceries meant routing through a slow off-ramp and a third-party debit card that delisted assets at random.
Aurapay started as a private beta for 200 friends. Three years later, we settle nine-figure monthly volume across 200+ countries, hold the same insurance policy as institutional custodians, and ship physical titanium cards from a workshop in Lisbon.
We're a team of 64 people across London, Lisbon, Singapore and New York. Half of us came from regulated finance. The other half came from crypto-native protocols. The conversations between those two halves are why this product exists.
